Breast Implant Removal (Explant Surgery) in Bangkok, Thailand
Trust Thailand's #1 cosmetic surgery provider for a life-changing transformation.
There are many reasons a patient may consider breast implant removal, also known as explant surgery. Implants may no longer feel necessary due to lifestyle or personal changes. Corrective surgery may also be an option when you want to reduce your breast size or address health concerns or complications.
Although breast implants are long-lasting, they don't last forever. Most healthcare practitioners recommend replacing silicone implants after 10-20 years. Ruptured breast implants should always be removed. Signs of ruptured implants include changes in breast shape, size, firmness or swelling.
If you are concerned about stretched breast skin, your surgeon may recommend additional procedures such as a breast lift to restore a youthful, perky appearance to your breasts.

The Explant Surgery Process
The process to remove breast implants always starts with a consultation. Our plastic surgeon will carefully assess your situation and guide you through the entire process. Based on this, you can make the final decision on whether to proceed with the surgery.
Breast implant removal is almost always performed under local anesthesia. The surgeon will access the implants through the incision sites from your previous surgery. Some or all of the capsule (scar tissue) surrounding the implant may also be removed.
Implant removal is a relatively straightforward procedure, taking less than an hour. You can usually return home immediately and resume normal activities within a few days.

Before your explant surgery
Read the pre-surgery instructions. They will help prevent complications and improve outcomes for your surgery.
Inform Azurite of your overall medical history assessment (any allergies, severe medical conditions and all medications taken, both prescribed and non-prescribed), physical examination, and laboratory tests will be performed during the consultation. Ideally, get sign-off from your GP.
Avoid smoking at least six weeks before surgery, as nicotine interferes with circulation and dramatically affects healing.
Stop drinking alcohol a week before the surgery and throughout your recovery period.
Avoid taking medications such as hormones, anticoagulants, or anabolic steroids for at least 4-6 weeks to prevent complications. Also, avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, fish oil, and herbal supplements like turmeric, as they can increase bleeding.
