Overview of Facial Reconstruction Surgery

At Azurite Medical and Wellness, we understand the profound impact that facial injuries and deformities can have on an individual's life. Facial reconstruction surgery is a transformative procedure designed to restore both form and function to the face. This specialized field encompasses a wide range of techniques, from addressing congenital deformities to repairing damage caused by accidents or burns.

Advanced Surgical Techniques

Our expert surgeons employ cutting-edge methods to achieve optimal results:

  • Microvascular free tissue transfer

  • Skin grafting

  • Flap surgery

These procedures allow us to use the patient's own tissues, such as skin or cartilage, to reconstruct facial features with precision. In cases where natural tissue is insufficient, we may utilize implants or prosthetic devices to restore natural-looking contours.

Types of Facial Reconstructive Procedures

  • For patients who have experienced facial trauma or burns, we provide advanced reconstructive surgeries. These procedures may include facial fracture repair, scar revision, and microvascular free tissue transfer, where we use the patient's own skin, bone, or muscle to rebuild facial features.

  • We offer specialized treatments for congenital facial deformities, such as cleft lip and palate repair, ear reconstruction, and correction of other facial anomalies. Our goal is to improve both aesthetics and functionality, enhancing our patients' quality of life.

  • Following cancer surgeries, we perform intricate reconstructive procedures to restore facial structures. This may involve nasal reconstruction, facial reanimation, or Mohs surgery reconstruction, depending on the patient's specific needs.

    • An open rhinoplasty involves making a small Z-shaped incision on the underside of the nose between the nostrils. This provides the surgeon with direct access to reshape the nasal structures.

    • A closed rhinoplasty is performed entirely through the nostrils, leaving no external scars. Though less invasive, it provides the surgeon with limited access.
